My favourite baby presents were always the handmade ones. These have survived three house moves including an international one which required a ruthless chuck out. Whilst sometimes a multi pack of baby-grows is very useful and a big plastic toy provides hours of entertainment, handmade baby accessories tend to stay with you or your child forever. My boys still snuggle under their baby quilts to watch telly and I have a small box of handmade baby treasures stashed away for them.
Our aim at Poppy and Honesty is to make forever things for your children. They can be chucked in the wash time and time again and the styles and prints are timeless. If you know someone expecting a little spring chicky, here is a guide of special handmade gifts.
Our Liberty Print Baby Blankets feature two layers of luxurious fabrics. On one side, Liberty of London Tana Lawn and on the reverse, very soft minky. This fabric is a snuggly microfibre which is so soft against your babies skin, we'd like to be wrapped in it permanently.
Our quilts come in two sizes, cot and single. They are so padded and snuggly that you can throw them on the floor for tummy time, shove them in the pram for extra snuggle or tuck them into bed. Featuring Liberty of London Tana Lawn Cotton on one side and washed grey linen on the reverse, we have hand stitched them together for a lovely vintage feel. Our quilts are machine washable and they will look great for years to come. We currently have quilts in three prints, Betsy, Queue For The Zoo and Emma and Georgina.
Ok, so these are not strictly baby gifts but every nursery needs a good cushion for exhausted parents to prop themselves up on during the night feeds. Feather filled and soft and snuggly, it will do the job nicely. We have them in lots of different prints and sizes.
