Poppy and Honesty is a design led British brand that creates beautiful home accessories, bedding and children clothes using Liberty of London cotton Tana Lawn. We combine classic prints with contemporary design to make products that look gorgeous but are functional and will stand the test of time. Everything is handmade from start to finish in our home in pretty Cornwall.

 The business grew out of Sophie’s long standing love affair with beautiful fabrics. Having previously worked as a teacher she started Poppy and Honesty when her two boys were little. Liberty of London Tana Lawn was a natural choice for her projects, with its fine weave, delicate patterns, long-wearing colours, and its traditional English heritage (many of its fabrics are still printed a old factory in Lancashire).

Poppy and Honesty began life in Perth, Australia in 2012. Overwhelmed with the demands of childcare, I gave up my job as a teacher and started up a new hustle making bedding, cushions and lampshades to sell at local fairs. Liberty of London Tana Lawn Cotton was the obvious choice for my creations as it reminded me of my homeland and appealed to our Australian customers with its nostalgic and whimsical charms.

We relocated back to Cornwall, England in 2015 and our little enterprise has been growing steadily ever since. Poppy and Honesty now employs six talented seamstresses in our local area and everything is handmade from start to finish in the South West of England.

All of our products are designed by me and thoroughly road-tested in our home by our rambunctious children. My design philosophy is ‘fun and functional’. I don’t believe in taking interiors too seriously and our products are designed to bring your cheer as well as last a life time.

I adore blending chintzy Liberty fabrics with Gingham and Candy Stripes. The mish-mash of pattern and colour brings with it a joyful chaos. At Poppy and Honesty we like to use tip-top fabrics including Liberty of London Tana Lawn Cotton as well as Designers Guild Velvets and premium tumbled linens.

Many of our products are handmade to order in our tiny Cornish studios and whilst we will do our best to deliver your goodies promptly, please remember that there is no factory and we are hand-cutting and carefully crafting each individual piece for your home.
