New season and how to Moomin
Sophie Lombardi
At this stage in the season I start to get full on summer bereavement. This outpouring of grief is not helped by my insistence on wearing flip flops and sitting on the doorstep drinking my coffee shivering. It seems that the indian summer is not to be. I had high hopes of drinking vino in the garden well into late September but alas we’d better just be grateful for days when it doesn’t actually rain. What of course I need to do is ditch the sandals, get my woolly socks on and make like a Scandi. For as soon as I wave goodbye to summer, get the wood pile stocked and make some apple crumble, I will be as happy as a hibernating moomin.
To help the hygge along, Poppy and Honesty has bought out a luxurious range of quilts. These beauties are designed to sit at the foot of the bed, to be pulled up over your duvet to keep you warm on colder nights or days for that matter. Our new quilts come in a range of sumptuous colours and most of them are machine washable to accommodate the most decadent of winter breakfasts in bed, fondue anyone? They are generously filled and textured for extra cosiness and warmth and come in a range of sizes.
Obviously we’ll be needing to cosy up the whole house to compensate for the exterior dreariness. Cue Poppy and Honesty’s new cushions in Athenian blue velvet and Liberty of London’s ‘Faria’s Flowers’. This illustriously detailed print of flourishing flower beds may make up for the fact that everything has gone a bit brown in the garden. We’ve also got a jumbo cushion in our favourite Liberty of London print ‘Betsy’ reversing to soft grey velvet and piped in pink. Perfect to cuddle when your fellow moomin is out.
Happy hyggering ….

PS sorry to the Danish for misappropriating their cosy word.
